Capt. Kubley testifies before Homeland Security Committe on improving FEMA's emergency shelter response to disasters.
Capt. Kubley is honored to have testified before the United States House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee, the purpose of the meeting was to identify problems in FEMA's response to disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and Ike. Intershelter was asked to be part of this process as many in congress feel that we are the type of new, innovative, and superior solution to emergency housing and first responders for FEMA and other relief organizations.
Intershelter domes are part of the answer for quarantine for the swine flu pandemic. Unlike tents or mobile structures, we can effectively seal the structure and provide a closed loop atmosphere with biological/HEPA filtration for both incoming and outgoing air. In a biological emergency Intershelter EnviroSphere domes can be configured to temporarily house persons from an overseas flight as a quick quarantine for those affected passengers/crews.
Intershelter EnviroSphere domes staged at designated remote airports can be erected in just a few hours outside within another structure like an aircraft hanger. These EnviroSphere domes would be effective in isolating persons suspected of H5N1 (Bird Flu), SARS, or other infectious diseases. The same quarantine and decontamination facilities can be used after a terrorist or biological attack. Click here for more information.
