The Inventor
In the late 1940's, Buckminster Fuller invented the Geodesic Dome to improve the housing of humanity. It represented a brilliant demonstration of his synergetic principles. Craig Chamberlain, a student of Fuller, invented an innovative, attractive, comfortable and economical dome structure which he called the OmniSphere®.
Mr. Chamberlain's invention has changed the lives of hundreds of people who have lived, worked, and left the Dome Village in Los Angeles, CA. Craig’s wisdom and knowledge has transcended from the first OmniSphere® to the InterShelter™. Working with Craig, InterShelter’s operation team has improved the original OmniSphere® by using state of the art composites and manufacturing processes. The new dome is lighter, stronger, and provides a more customizable structure for the various needs of clients.
The second generation of OmniSphere®, the InterShelter™, is different in not only construction but also construction methods. Using the latest resins, coatings, and hybrid materials, the InterShelter™ allows for faster and more accurate production methods with a limited amount of operational workers.
Currently, Craig is InterShelter's design consultant who works with our production staff on all design improvements and technological processes. His continued participation and design leadership ensures the best design using the latest materials and processes. Craig's insight and vision is maintained throughout the InterShelter company and processes.
